Description:

Condition Survey Inspection of New York Marine Terminal, Howland Hook Wharf. The purpose of the inspection was to evaluate the overall condition of the structure and to identify any structural and non-structural deficiencies. A 100% visual and 10% hands-on inspection was performed on all piles, pile cap beams and fascia beams, underside of deck panels, crane support girders and steel sheet pile bulkhead. A complete visual inspection was also performed on 100% of the top of the wharf deck along with an incremental survey of crane rail elevations. Profiles of the rip-rap dike were also taken at 100’ intervals along the entire length of the wharf. A complete fathometric survey was also preformed beneath the structure extending 20’ beyond the outboard face of the wharf. Hydrographic topographical mapping produced detailed layout plans and cross-sections at pre-determined intervals throughout the entire length of the structure.
