Expert professional services for Performance of Condition Surveys of Waterfront Facilities on a Call-In Basis for the Quality Assurance Division of the Port Authority of NY & NJ, Boswell Underwater Engineering conducted a condition survey of the Port Newark Berth 3 Culvert and the Port Elizabeth Berth 50 Culvert. The structures inspected as part of this survey included two low-level platforms supported by timber bents, underdecking, four (4) bulkheads, and safety features. The purpose of the survey was to determine the overall condition of the structural elements, to identify any structural and non-structural deficiencies which would present a potential safety hazard, and to develop recommendations for correcting the deficiencies.
