BUE provided professional marine engineering services throughout the Rehabilitation of Shipping Berths 2, 4, 5, 7, 9 through 13, 14 through 18, 20 through 26, 28, 30, 32, 34, and 36 within The Port Newark Marine Terminal, located in Newark, New Jersey.
BUE assisted the PA’s project manager in the quality assurance construction inspection of a variety of structural repairs performed on the timber, concrete and steel components throughout the many shipping berths. The numerous tasks incorporated within these quality assurance inspections included, but were not limited to, pre-repair inspection for repair type confirmation, in-progress repair preparation inspection ensuring repairs were being carried out according to design specifications, and also completed repair inspections verifying both quality of repair and associated pay items submitted for payment. Inspection work occurred as-needed, requiring 210 days of field verifications.
