Boswell provided professional oversight and collected/prepared sediment samples during a Remedial Investigation (RI) at a former wire manufacturing plant in Yonkers, New York. Prior to the investigation, Boswell developed a methodology for collecting sediment samples from the tidal portion of the Hudson River beneath the facility’s dock.

Boswell first utilized existing site plans to establish a sampling grid adjacent to and beneath the site’s docks. Drawing upon the personnel and expertise of our Boswell Underwater Engineering (BUE) division, divers entered the water and were able to obtain sediment samples from difficult to reach locations. This sampling method was considered preferable as the dock was structurally deteriorated and may not have been able to safely support the weight of a drilling rig. The entire sampling event was completed in less than 2-days thereby demonstrating to the client that our methodology was both efficient and significantly cost effective.
